Published 1 week ago2 minute read

The North West Solidarity Forum (NWSF) has commended Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf of Kano State for organising what it described as the most successful Hajj exercise in the state’s history, setting a new benchmark for pilgrim welfare and inclusive spiritual leadership.

It recalled that the pilgrims and observers had confirmed that Governor Yusuf ensured seamless logistics for Kano’s record-breaking contingent of pilgrims, the largest nationwide, which is unprecedented.

In a statement, the Executive Director of the NWSF, Comrade Abubakar Sani, commended Governor Yusuf’s hands-on leadership and compassionate governance, highlighting his sponsorship of numerous underprivileged citizens to perform the pilgrimage.

The forum particularly applauds the governor’s magnanimity in sponsoring numerous less-privileged citizens to perform Hajj, affirming his commitment to inclusive religious opportunity.

Sani said, “The 2025 Hajj exercise under Governor Yusuf’s leadership has rewritten Kano’s history. His hands-on approach guaranteed every pilgrim dignity and comfort, while his generosity uplifted the vulnerable. This is servant-leadership in action.”

Sani also commended the governor’s transformative development agenda across Kano State, as massive investments in infrastructure, education, and healthcare have significantly improved living standards and boosted public optimism.

He said, “This grassroots impact has been demonstrated in the heroic reception Governor Yusuf received upon returning from Saudi Arabia, a spontaneous outpouring of public affection rooted in his deep connection with the people.

“Thousands thronged the streets to welcome Governor Yusuf home – a testament to the trust he has earned through tangible governance. From the groundbreaking ‘Giant of Development’ projects to his Hajj triumph, he consistently prioritises the people’s welfare.”

The forum urged Governor Yusuf to sustain this exceptional standard of excellence as manifested in all facets of Kano’s development, adding that, “We challenge His Excellency to keep raising the bar. Kano’s progress under his stewardship inspires the entire North West region.”

The NWSF advocates that other governors in the subregion should emulate the execution of equitable development, good governance, and social justice from Kano as they strive to move their states to a higher pedestal of development.
