Ahead of the Winter 2025–26 season, major US airlines are adding connectivity from the Northeast US to Florida to better support growing leisure demand. American Airlines, JetBlue, Delta, and Alaska Airlines have announced new routes and seasonal schedules to add to travelers’ options to fly to popular Florida spots.

American Airlines is leading the charge with a range of new seasonal and upgraded routes. Beginning on December 18, 2025, American will offer daily flights from Boston Logan International Airport (BOS) to Orlando International Airport (MCO) and from New York LaGuardia Airport (LGA) to Jacksonville International Airport (JAX). These routes will operate during the high-demand holiday window, continuing through January 4, 2026. These additions will provide additional options for travelers from the Northeast heading to Florida, which remains one of the most sought-after winter destinations for families and leisure travelers alike.

In addition to these new seasonal routes, American Airlines is upgrading its seasonal service between Boston and Key West (EYW) to a scheduled seasonal operation. Beginning November 20, 2025, American will offer weekly flights on this route, with a daily service to match the increased demand during the holiday season. The daily service will run from December 18, 2025, to January 4, 2026, after which it will revert to weekly flights for the remainder of the season.

American’s introduction of daily flights from Boston to Key West during the holiday season highlights the airline’s commitment to providing more choices for travelers looking to visit this popular Florida destination. American joins JetBlue as one of the few airlines offering scheduled nonstop service between Boston and Key West during the winter months. While United Airlines operates select routes into Key West from northern markets like Newark and Chicago, it does not offer regular weekly service from Boston, creating an opportunity for American to capture additional market share.

JetBlue is also expanding its Florida offerings for Winter 2025–26, introducing new routes and converting several seasonal routes into year-round services. Starting October 30, 2025, JetBlue will operate two daily Mint flights between Orlando and Las Vegas, marking its first-ever Mint service from Orlando. One of these flights will operate year-round, while the other will operate only during the winter months, concluding on March 28, 2026. This new route will offer a premium, upgraded experience for travelers flying between two popular destinations, catering to those seeking a more luxurious flight option.

JetBlue is also expanding its footprint in Florida with increased frequencies on some of its most popular routes. The airline will convert its seasonal service between Providence, Rhode Island (PVD), and Tampa, Florida (TPA), as well as its seasonal Hartford to Fort Myers (RSW) flights, into year-round operations. The move reflects sustained demand for these services, as travelers continue to flock to Florida’s sunny weather and family-friendly attractions during the winter months.

This year-round expansion by JetBlue not only strengthens the airline’s presence in Florida but also reflects the growing trend of travelers seeking warm-weather domestic destinations, especially as international travel becomes more uncertain or less desirable. Florida’s appeal remains strong, and JetBlue is well-positioned to capitalize on that demand with these expanded services.

JetBlue is expanding its presence in Florida with new routes and increased frequencies. Starting October 30, 2025, the airline will offer two daily Mint flights between Orlando and Las Vegas, with one flight operating year-round and the other concluding on March 28, 2026. This marks JetBlue’s first Mint service from Orlando, providing premium options for travelers.

In addition, JetBlue is converting its seasonal winter service from Providence to Tampa and from Hartford to Fort Myers into year-round operations, reflecting the sustained demand for these routes.

Delta Air Lines is launching new seasonal routes to Florida for the winter season. Beginning December 20, 2025, the airline will operate new point-to-point services to Orlando International Airport (MCO) from various cities, enhancing direct connectivity to one of Florida’s most visited destinations.

Delta is also introducing a new seasonal route from Seattle-Tacoma International Airport (SEA) to Miami International Airport (MIA), further expanding its Florida network.

Alaska Airlines is introducing new seasonal flights to Florida for the winter season. Starting December 16, 2025, the airline will operate nonstop flights from Portland International Airport (PDX) to Tampa International Airport (TPA) and New Orleans Louis Armstrong Airport (MSY). These routes will provide additional options for travelers in the Pacific Northwest looking to visit Florida.

The expansion of Florida routes by these major airlines reflects the continued strong demand for leisure travel to the state. Florida remains a top destination for travelers seeking warm weather and a variety of attractions during the winter months. The new and enhanced services aim to accommodate this demand and provide travelers with more choices for their winter vacations.

Travelers are encouraged to book early and stay informed about flight schedules and availability as the winter season approaches. For the latest information on these new routes and other travel updates, passengers should visit the airlines’ official websites or contact their customer service departments.

Winter 2025–26 will see significant growth in travel to Florida from the Northeastern United States with American Airlines’ move to add more services, followed by JetBlue, Delta, and Alaska Airlines. These additions will enable greater flexibility and convenience for travelers to cover Florida hotspots and make the entire journey seamless in peak-season travel.
