North West channels father Kanye in interview as debut album 'Elementary School Dropout' nears
Interviewed by Chris Too Smoove, the 11-year-old responded with repeated “I don’t know” answers when asked about her outfit—echoing a 2024 interview with Ye himself, where he disclosed only the price of his trousers, replying “I don’t know” to the rest.
North, the eldest child of Kanye West and Kim Kardashian, has often drawn comparisons to her father, particularly for her distinctive fashion sense and attitude towards media attention.
Her resemblance to Ye goes beyond style, now extending into music as she prepares to release her debut album, Elementary School Dropout, a nod to Kanye’s own iconic College Dropout.
In early 2025, Kanye posted a black-and-white image of North at a keyboard in his studio, writing that she had “made me love music again.” Her request for beats reignited his passion for hands-on production and launched a creative wave that led to new projects for both.
North’s music debut began with “Talking / Once Again,” a collaboration with Kanye and Ty Dolla $ign in 2024. She followed up with a feature on Vultures 2 and surprised fans by rapping in Japanese on FKA twigs’ track Childlike Things.
