Nora left behind five children. She married Christopher de Leon in January 1975 and had one biological son, Ian. They adopted four others: Lotlot de Leon, Matet de Leon, Kenneth de Leon and Kiko de Leon. Nora and Christopher annulled their marriage in 1996.
In a tribute posted on Facebook, Ian described his mother as the heart of their family. He wrote,
She was the heart of our family—a source of unconditional love, strength, and warmth. Her kindness, wisdom, and beautiful spirit touched everyone who knew her. She will be missed beyond words and remembered forever.
The legendary actress was accorded a state funeral organised by the National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA) and the Cultural Center of the Philippines. The ceremony was held on April 22nd, 2025, in Libingan ng mga Bayani, Taguig City.
Nora received military honours, including a 21-gun salute, and the ceremonial folding and presentation of the Philippine flag to her family. The burial was preceded by a memorial service at the Metropolitan Theater in Manila. Several celebrities shared incredible tributes about the fallen thespian.
