Nkoranza North, South DLEs: EC sets new dates for receipt of nomination
Nominations will now be accepted from Monday, April 7, 2025, to Thursday, April 10, 2025.
A statement signed and issued by the Deputy Chairperson of the EC in charge of Operations, Samuel Tettey, said the change in the date of the submission of nominations was rescheduled due to the declaration of Tuesday, April 1, 2025, as a public holiday.
The EC reminded the public that the submission hours for nomination forms remain unchanged: forms can be submitted between 9:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m., and 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. each day.
"Please take note that the time and venue for submitting nominations remain the same," the statement added.
Nomination forms can be obtained free of charge at the EC's district offices or downloaded from the official website (www.ec.gov.gh).
Candidates are required to submit completed nomination forms in quadruplicate, either personally or through a proposer or seconder, along with two recent passport-sized photographs with a red background.
All forms should be delivered to the Returning Officer for the relevant Electoral Area beginning Monday, April 7, 2025.
However, the date for the elections in the two districts remains unchanged and will take place on Tuesday, May 13, 2025, following the expiration of the current term of assembly and unit committee members. This is in line with the District Level Elections Regulations, 2015 (C.I. 89).
The EC on December 19, 2023, conducted DLEs to elect assembly and Unit Committee members for the various Metropolitan, Municipal and District Assemblies across the country in 6,272 electoral areas and 38,622 polling stations nationwide in 259 districts out of a total of 261.
There were no elections in Nkoranza North and South in the Bono East Region because the polls were held in the two districts in April 2020 and the next one is to be conducted for both districts in 2025.
