Published 1 day ago2 minute read

The founder and CEO, Bolu Aiki-Raji, says that access to credit shouldn’t depend on where you live or old banking systems. Many people in Nigeria and across Africa are investing in digital assets, but they don’t have a way to turn those investments into cash quickly when they need it. Carrot is building that bridge to help people get money when it matters most.

Carrot raises $4.2M in a seed funding round

The $4.2 million Carrot raised in this seed funding round came from investors like MaC Venture Capital, Partech Africa, and Authentic Ventures. This money will help Carrot grow its team, improve its products, and reach more people. Marlon Nichols from MaC Venture Capital said he’s excited about Carrot because it uses digital assets to make borrowing easier in places where getting credit has been tough.

Carrot offers flexible loan options. People can choose to pay back their loans in 3, 6, or 12 months, with monthly payments that fit their budget. The interest rates are also lower than many other lenders, making it more affordable for users.

Carrot works with other fintech companies and investment platforms, so users can borrow money right from the apps they already use. This makes borrowing simple and fast. The company plans to use the new funding to expand to more African countries and help even more people access credit.

Carrot raises $4.2m to help unlock the value of digital investments for everyday people and businesses in Africa. This new funding is a big step forward for the startup and for improving financial access on the continent.
