Nigeria needs divine healing, says PFN president

Published 14 hours ago2 minute read

The National President of the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria, Bishop Wale Oke, has declared that only God’s divine intervention can rescue Nigeria from a myriad of challenges bedevilling her.

However, Oke assured Nigerians that there is better hope for the country, and Nigeria will still be the giant of Africa, as it used to be.

Oke said PFN is helping in building a greater Nigeria through prayers, preaching, and calling people to repentance and a life of holiness and Righteousness.

Oke made these known in his welcome address during the PFN National Executive Retreat, ongoing in Uyo, the Akwa Ibom State capital.

He added that PFN is an association born out of God’s fellowship for 40 years since its establishment.

Oke said the country should expect a great revival after the conference.

Highlighting the country’s deteriorating economic conditions, rising insecurity, and Oke said Nigeria was facing “existential threats” that require urgent spiritual intervention.

“We know the pillars of the earth belong to the Lord. If he steps in, there shall be light,” he said.

“We must not continue like this. A change is coming, and though we don’t know how God will do it, we believe He answers prayers.”

He stressed the critical role of the church in national healing, stating that through prayer, fasting, and preaching, Nigeria could be restored.

“Nigeria needs healing. That’s why we are here. Through prayer, fasting, and the preaching of the word, we can build a just society. Darkness cannot overcome light—there will be light at the end of the tunnel for Nigeria.”

He charged the PFN to rise to the occasion, saying, “The time to act is now. May the PFN be God’s instrument of mercy in this season.”

The retreat also serves as a precursor to the fellowship’s 40th anniversary, scheduled for October 27, 2025, under the theme “PFN: Yesterday, Today and
Tomorrow.

“This year marks 40 years of the PFN’s founding. God has used the Fellowship to impact Nigeria in many ways,” Oke said. “We are here to celebrate God’s goodness with praise, prayer, and the word. We believe God will use PFN as His instrument of mercy to deliver Nigeria.”

The retreat concluded with prayers rededicating the country to God and a renewed call for national repentance and righteous living.
