Nigeria'll collaborate to curb illegal migration, says Bagudu
The Minister of Budget and Economic Planning, Abubakar Bagudu, has said that Nigeria is keen to collaborate with other countries to combat illegal migration.
Bagudu, who spoke during a high-level meeting with the Austrian Ambassador to Nigeria, Peter Guschelbauer, in Abuja, at the weekend, said that the President Bola Tinubu-led administration did not wish for Nigerians to become a burden to their host countries, adding that the ongoing economic reforms aimed to stabilise and strengthen the economy so that the youths could travel by choice.
“The President said we must confront our realities. This includes halting distortionary policies and generating more resources to provide the infrastructure that will stimulate inclusive growth, stabilising our economy,” he stated.
He, therefore, said that confronting that reality would send a positive signal to both domestic and international investors.
