NiDCOM Calls On Diaspora To Support Nigeria's Reforms
The Chairman and CEO of the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NiDCOM), Dr Abike Dabiri-Erewa, has called on Nigerians living abroad to actively participate in the country’s ongoing reform agenda.
In a recent video message, Dr. Dabiri-Erewa highlighted the introduction of the Nigeria First Policy, a new executive directive launched by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, which aims to prioritise domestic interests, promote Nigerian-made products, and encourage home-grown solutions in government procurement processes.
She described the policy as a timely and strategic move to steer the nation toward sustainability and inclusive development.
Dr. Dabiri-Erewa encouraged members of the diaspora community to seize the opportunity to contribute their knowledge, skills, and expertise toward national development.
she urged.
She further assured that NiDCOM remains committed to collaborating with diaspora Nigerians, particularly in areas aligned with the new policy’s objectives, and welcomed innovative ideas and strategic partnerships.
The Nigeria First Policy is expected to serve as a framework for enhancing local capacity, strengthening national identity, and fostering a more self-reliant economy.
