Mudimba, who was with his family at the time, had reportedly been unwell and was receiving treatment.

It all started on Saturday, March 22, when the media personality was diagnosed with health complications, including high uric acid levels.

After seeking further medical attention, Mudimba returned home stronger with no sign that things would worsen.

On Sunday, March 23, he joined other Kenyans in watching the highly anticipated match pitting Harambee Stars against Gabon.

The match meant a lot, not just to him but to Kenyans at large, which is why he had used his social media platforms to push for others to attend.

However, trouble began shortly after taking his prescribed medicine as he collapsed and began convulsing.

Despite efforts to save him, he passed away at home.

His body was later transferred to a mortuary in Syokimau as the family awaits an autopsy to determine the exact cause of death.

Mudimba was a highly respected journalist with a distinguished career in the media industry who started at KTN and Switch TV before joining CGTN Africa as a senior reporter.

His colleagues have described him as a committed professional whose work had a lasting impact on the industry.

The media fraternity and the nation at large are mourning the loss of a dedicated journalist whose contributions will be remembered for years to come.

The family is expected to release further details regarding funeral arrangements in the coming days.

Mudimba's passing has left a significant void in the media industry, with colleagues and fans expressing disbelief and sadness.

His former colleagues at Standard Media Group, Switch Media, and other channels shared heartfelt tributes on social media.

"He always believed he would become one of the best journalists from Africa and take over the world. Unfortunately, he's died before achieving that dream," radio presenter Maina Kageni eulogised.
If there is one fact of life that something must remind us of every day, it is its brevity," former SG colleague Mike Nyagwoka posted. "Life is indeed brief. Mungu atufariji sote na sana sana familia yake,"

Mudimba's demise deals another blow to Kenya's media industry as it comes days after another journalist died.

Fredrick Parsayo, a budding reporter with national broadcaster Kenya Broadcasting Corporation (KBC) died on Friday, March 21.

The body was taken to St. Theresa Hospital morgue in Kikuyu, while his death left his colleagues and friends shocked as they now have to put up with the tragic loss.

Parsayo died under unclear circumstances at his home in Kiambu County, with officers stationed at the Kinoo Police Station taking over the probe into the cause of his death.
