New partnership tackles Germany's skilled workforce gap while opening doors for Nigerian students to work abroad

As Europe grapples with a widening skills gap, Nexford University and Constructor University have launched a groundbreaking partnership designed to connect Nigeria's ambitious, talented youth with world-class education and lucrative career opportunities in Germany and beyond.

Constructor University, renowned for its excellence in innovation, technology, and entrepreneurship, provides students with practical skills and industry connections that complement Nexford University's online-based, career-focused American education model. Together, they have designed a program that addresses both Nigeria's growing demand for international education pathways and Germany's critical need for skilled professionals.

Starting from the 2025/2026 academic year, this first-of-its-kind initiative allows Nigerian students enrolled in the new program to complete up to 50% of their bachelor’s or master’s degrees fully online through Nexford University before transferring to Constructor University’s Bremen campus to finish their studies and gain crucial international exposure, hands-on experience in German industries, and direct access to Europe's extensive professional networks.

For postgraduate students, the program offers a particularly valuable proposition—the potential to earn dual master's degrees through a streamlined curriculum with courses recognized by both institutions.

Despite producing over 500,000 university graduates annually, Nigeria faces significant challenges in providing sufficient professional opportunities for its educated workforce.

Germany's projected shortage of seven million skilled workers by 2035 creates perfect timing for this initiative. With more than 209,000 unfilled positions currently in STEM fields alone, Nigerian graduates with Constructor University credentials will enter a welcoming employment landscape.

Graduates of Constructor University are eligible for an 18-month visa in Germany, as the program meets the minimum residency requirements for a work visa. The curriculum is strategically designed to equip students with skills aligned with European labour market demands.

Currently, 78% of Constructor University graduates are employed across Europe, with 70% securing jobs within three months of graduation. Top employers of Constructor University graduates include global corporations such as Accenture, Amazon, Google, Deloitte, Ernst & Young, Roche, Ringier AG, Tamedia, and UBS, underscoring the program’s strong industry connections and career prospects.

Understanding the economic realities facing many Nigerian students, the partnership incorporates significant financial advantages. Students start with Nexford's affordable flat-fee tuition while studying from home, avoiding substantial international relocation costs during the first half of their program.

Upon transferring to Constructor University, all Nexford students automatically qualify for scholarship consideration. This thoughtful approach makes a world-class international education accessible for a broader segment of Nigeria's ambitious youth.
