The Akwa Ibom State Governor, Pastor Umo Eno, has been inducted as Patron of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR), Uyo chapter.

The investiture ceremony took place during the institute’s Annual General Meeting (AGM), inductions, and fellows’ inauguration, as well as elections, at the ongoing Nigerian Public Relations Week (NPRW25) in Uyo.

Eno’s investiture was followed by the re-election of Dr. Ike Neliaku as President and Chairman-in-Council, along with Comrade Ini Ememobong and 15 others as council members of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations.

Accepting the honour, Eno promised to abide by the code of conduct that governs the Institute and support its ideals.

He appealed to NIPR members to continue projecting Nigeria positively and declared his support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration.

The governor urged Nigerians to patiently cooperate with the President as he works to change the nation’s fortunes.

Speaking about his administration’s achievements in the state, Governor Eno highlighted that numerous projects have been executed without borrowing from financial institutions.

He attributed the availability of funds to strategic and visionary decisions taken by President Tinubu, which have yielded increased revenue and more funds for developmental projects.

Eno expressed his determination to make Akwa Ibom State a tourist destination of choice in the country.

He cited the ongoing reconstruction of the abandoned 5,000-seater capacity International Conference Centre and a 200-room world-class hotel as indicators of his administration’s commitment to developing the state’s tourism sector.

The NIPR President and Chairman-in-Council, Dr. Ike Neliaku, performed the investiture ceremony. Dr. Neliaku stated that the honour bestowed on Eno acknowledges his role in promoting the organization’s code, professional standards, and solemn commitment to creating a more reputation-conscious society.

Dr. Neliaku also addressed the AGM, highlighting his administration’s achievements over the past two years. These achievements include digital migration of membership applications, establishment of sectoral hubs, execution of MoUs with various organizations, and the annual Nigeria Spokespersons Summit.

The Nigerian Public Relations Week (NPRW25) was themed “Harnessing Public Relations for Economic Renaissance.”

The event was attended by members of the State Executive Council, the political class, fellows, and members of the Institute.

The weeklong activities included a PR round table with traditional rulers, undergraduate forum, plenary sessions, posthumous awards, installation of the Body of Advisers, and the investiture ceremony.
