The young man refuted reports that he had been abducted, saying his disappearance had caused worry and fear among Kenyans.

He clarified that he had been in hiding, even as Kenyans demanded his immediate release from wherever he was.

His family appeared emotional as they accompanied him to court on Thursday, July 3, following his unexpected reappearance.

Among the family members present was his mother, who stood and sat by him throughout the session.

Before the proceedings began, she gave her son a warm and tight hug, assuring him that everything would be okay.

He hugged her back, reciprocating the same love, support, and energy he received from his caring mother.

He needed no more words of affirmation from her — her kind and thoughtful gesture clearly showed she would stand by him through everything.

As the proceedings continued, Kinyagia’s mother, seated to his left, held him close, giving him constant assurance.

She wrapped her arm around his shoulder and gently pulled him closer, offering the warm embrace of a loving mother.

Kinyagia remained calm, eyes cast downward, visibly comforted by her presence.

His mother appeared emotional and deep in prayer, seeking divine intervention from her Maker to come through for her son and the entire family.

One notable change in Kinyagia’s appearance was his hairstyle — he no longer sported his iconic Afro but had shaved and looked neat.

He wore a maroon hoodie over a checked shirt as he listened to the court proceedings.

Though he looked visibly traumatized during the session, his mother’s presence helped ease some of the tension.

His sudden reappearance after days in hiding drew mixed reactions from social media users who freely expressed their views:

Greys Silver:

“Imagine a young man hiding even from his parents just because he fears for his life. The government of the day was hunting him down.”

Makwana Mkisii:

“He never said DCI was holding him. He went missing without any notice once he realized those abductors were coming for him. He had no means of communication — that’s why even his family was worried. And truly, they came for him but didn’t find him.”

Kaimenyi Gibson:

“I’ve come to realize self-abduction is better than being abducted by DCI officers 😊😊. The case of Kinyagia is better than that of Ojwang’.”

In another story, Kenyans blasted the activist after he shared he was hiding and not abducted as many thought.

Many were not as sympathetic and forgiving despite him resurfacing and declaring he was safe and healthy.

Social media users felt he took their care for granted and they warned him about such 'acts'.
