NDC Volta diaspora applauds Bagbin for probing remarks against Zanetor
The NDC Volta Diaspora Caucus has commended the Speaker of Parliament Alban Bagbin, for investigating unsavory comments made against Dr. Zanetor Agyemang Rawlings.
Following the caucus’s petition, Speaker Bagbin apologized to Dr. Zanetor Rawlings and her family, giving the culprit an ultimatum to come forward.
In an interview with Citi News, the Public Relations officer for the Volta Diaspora Caucus, Francis Mawuko Koku Aziohade welcomed the move and indicated that the group expects the culprit to cooperate and issue a public apology.
“We are happy with the investigation, the speaker is launching into this issue. We are so much happy. And then the speaker apologising to the general public, apologising on behalf of the house. We are happy. But our issue is it shouldn’t end there.
“We want to see the person. We want the person to come out publicly for us to know it is Kofi or it is Kojo or it is Kweku who made that statement.
Flight lieutenant Jerry John Rawlings, he is not just a citizen of Ghana, He was a statesman, president of this republic. He’s a son from the soil Angloland. He’s a chief, title chief. He’s has a stool in Angloland. So that is why we are out there to register our displeasure concerning this comment.”
