The National Cohesion and Integration Commission (NCIC) has summoned former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua over remarks referencing the 2007–2008 post-election violence. Gachagua warned that any attempts to rig the 2027 elections could result in unrest surpassing the 2007 violence, stating, “2007 would look like a Christmas party” if the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) mishandles the polls.
