National Sports Festival: 24 states competing in golf event at Gateway Games - Runsewe
The President of the Nigeria Golf Federation, Segun Runsewe, has revealed that 24 states converged in Abeokuta Golf Club to participate in the ongoing National Sports Festival.
Mr Runsewe spoke during a technical meeting with the coaches and officials of games across the country at the Abeokuta Golf Club on Wednesday.
He assured that the game’s standard integrity and ethics would continue to be protected and followed closely throughout the festival.
Mr Runsewe stated that indiscipline would not be tolerated at any level during the championship.
The NGF President, represented by the Nigeria Golf Technical Director, Olajide Bolaji, commended the state government for its preparations for the festival.
Also speaking, the Chairman of Ogun Golf Association, Adewunmi Adefolu, assured that the athletes would perform well at the festival by bringing gold medals to the state, with the level of preparation and orientation given to them.
He applauded the state government for hosting the game that had brought lots of opportunities to the athletes in the state, particularly the construction of an access road to the Abeokuta Golf Club.
