President John Dramani Mahama has emphasised the significance of the National Economic Dialogue (NED), describing it as a crucial tool for the country's progress rather than just a mere initiative.

He stated that the NED goes beyond a campaign promise, calling it an immediate and urgent call to action.

Addressing government officials, business leaders, policy experts, and civil society representatives at the 2025 National Economic Dialogue, President Mahama urged all stakeholders to recognise its importance.

“It is with great honour and a deep sense of responsibility that I welcome you to this National Economic Dialogue. This gathering is more than just a symbolic exercise or the fulfillment of a campaign promise. It is a decisive step in our collective responsibility to reset Ghana's economy, restore confidence, and build the prosperous future we all envision,” he stated.

President Mahama further assured that his government is committed to engaging in comprehensive discussions about the country's challenges and devising practical solutions to address them.

He added that the nation stands at a pivotal moment, where the choices made today will have far-reaching implications.

These decisions, he noted, will not only address Ghana’s immediate problems but will also shape the future for generations to come.

“Today, we are here to begin the process of engaging in honest, solution-driven discussions about the challenges we face and the opportunities before us. Our nation stands at a pivotal moment, and the choices we make now will determine the trajectory of our economy for generations to come,” he said.

The opening ceremony of the 2025 National Economic Dialogue (NED) was held on Monday, March 3, 2025, in Accra, bringing together government officials, business leaders, policy experts, and civil society representatives to deliberate on the pressing economic challenges facing the nation.
