Edward Keitany was reportedly shot in the head by a police officer after he dropped the cop's wife at home.
The boda boda operator said the cop's wife approached him and asked him to take her home at night.
"I got a customer who asked me to take her to Olepolos. When we got there, the police, Sergeant James Kemei started asking me questions like where we were coming from that time of the night with his wife. I told him his wife found me at the stage and asked me to take her to Olepolos and I brought her," Keitany weakly said.
The boda rider claimed the officer refused to accept his story and was temperamental in the encounter.
He was also armed with a gun, which he allegedly used and severely injured the 25-year-old.
"He had told me to pick up corn with my teeth and push my motorcycle to his house," he said.
Police reports indicated the officer, Kemei, was arrested and his gun was taken from him after the inhumane act.
Keitany's family called upon the Independent Policing Oversight Authority (IPOA) to carry out a thorough investigation.
"When the medical reports were released, it showed the bullet is still in his head. We are calling for justice. That is all we want. The money the hospital is demanding from us is over KSh 800,000, which, as a family, on our financial status, we cannot afford," Samuel Kigen, Keitany's uncle, said.
Doctors at the hospital claim the victim was brought to the medical facility a day after he was shot.
Keitany is expected to undergo surgery on Saturday to remove the bullet from his head to prevent further injuries and complications.
