Nairobi United moved closer to FKF Premier League promotion after a 2-0 win over Luanda Villa on Wednesday.

Enock Machaka and Ivorian import Frank Ouya scored for Nairobi United in the rescheduled game that was played at Dandora Stadium.

Nairobi United lead the log with 62 points, followed by Administration Police Service (APS) Bomet (55) and Naivas (50). Kibera Black Stars are fourth with 48 points.

Nairobi United and Naivas have played 30 games, while APS Bomet and Kibera Black Stars have played 29.

Nairobi United will be up against Samwest Blackboots at Vapour Ground in Ngong on Sunday, while APS Bomet have a tricky fixture on Saturday against Darajani Gogo at Marist University in Karen.

Third-placed Naivas travel to Machakos for an encounter against Mully Children’s Family (MCF) while Kibera Black Stars will be eager to get back to winning ways when they host Fortune Sacco on Sunday at Jamhuri Complex.

Darajani Gogo coach Paul Ogai is hopeful of sealing a playoff slot with six games to go.

“We are still in the run for a play-off slot, since the difference between us and the third-placed team is three points. We have had a good run in the last four games, picking 10 points,” said Ogai.

On the game against APS Bomet, Ogai said: “It will be an explosive and end-to-end game since both teams need the three points. We hope to minimise the mistakes we made in our game against Naivas, which ended 2-2.”
