There are growing speculations that Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) leader Raila and President William Ruto will announce a coalition deal today on Friday, March 7.

The new pact would bring Raila and his ODM party into the Kenya Kwanza government, leaving the opposition to Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka, former deputy president Rigathi Gachagua, and People's Liberation Party (PLP) leader Martha Karua.

ODM party members are known for making grand celebrations in honour of their leader, Raila.

Footage showed them already gathered at the Kenyatta International Convention Centre (KICC) in Nairobi, with some dressed in orange, the ODM party's color.

They expressed their joy by singing jubilation songs ahead of the highly anticipated announcement by their leader, Raila, and President Ruto.

"Anayepinga ajitokeze. Anayepinga ajitokezee," they sang as they marched forward.

Kenyans took to social media to react to the video, with some expressing displeasure with the move.

This follows Raila's address on Wednesday, March 5, where he responded to concerns about working with former deputy president Rigathi Gachagua in the opposition.

Speaking in Wajir during his public consultation, the ODM party leader ruled out working with Gachagua, criticising him for previously vowing to set traps at State House to block Raila from securing any handshake or power-sharing deal.

The former prime minister also cited a well-known Kiswahili proverb that illustrated the consequences of the alleged schemes orchestrated by Gachagua.

He also told a short story about a man who set a trap to catch a rat, only to end up caught in it himself, resulting in his suffering.

Raila noted that Gachagua, once confident, is now sidelined due to his political struggles and impeachment.

He also suggested the possibility of working with Ruto's government, citing issues raised by locals such as the high cost of living and challenges with the Social Health Insurance Fund.
