Mutfwang hails Anaguta's cultural festival
Plateau State Governor Caleb Mutfwang congratulated the Anaguta Development Association (ADA) and the revered traditional institution on the grand celebration of the 2025 Ishokori Festival.
Mutfwang said that the iconic event stands as a powerful testament to the Anaguta people’s enduring commitment to preserving their rich cultural heritage, promoting unity, and advancing sustainable development.
According to him, “The Ishokori Festival is not only a vibrant showcase of tradition but also a moment of deep reflection, bringing together the illustrious sons and daughters of Anaguta Nation.
“It provides a unique platform to strengthen communal bonds, engage in meaningful dialogue on contemporary issues, and reaffirm the shared values of peace, harmony, and collective progress.”
He commended their firm resolve and visionary step towards establishing a Peace Centre, which is an initiative that will serve as a hub for conflict resolution, dialogue, and reconciliation within the community.
“As a government, we remain firmly committed to forging inclusive partnerships across all ethnic nationalities and revitasing core values of excellence, diligence, tolerance, peace, and compassion across Plateau State.
“Now, more than ever, we must harness our diversity as a strength and unite with a common purpose in protecting our heritage and promoting progress.”
In his remarks, the Ujah Anahuta and President, Jos North Traditional Council, His Royal Majesty, Ujah Johnson Magaji II, who was full of gratitude to God Almighty, said that they gathered to celebrate the annual Ishokori Festival, which is a celebration of God’s benevolence upon them as a people and trusting Him to always be their rock and pillar of support.
He acknowledged the Governor for his immense support, who worked tirelessly for peace to reign, and also his transformational leadership style, both in policy and infrastructural development
