Mr. Incredible is a person from a race of humans born with superpowers and is referred to as a "Super". He was one of the most famous heroes of his era and was known for his skill at fighting crime. At some point, he met and fell in love with fellow superhero Elastigirl. However, soon after the two wed, bystanders who had been injured during crime-fighting attempts began to sue. The backlash forced supers, like Mr. Incredible and Elastigirl into retirement and witness protection. Mr. Incredible resumed the name of Bob Parr and began a civilian life with Elastigirl, now in her civilian identity as Helen Parr.
Mr. Incredible is considered one of the most powerful Supers. During his early career, he was known for working alone, which was something that led him to push away Buddy Pine. He possesses the powers of superhuman strength and durability, as well as enhanced senses.
In the Operation Kronos database, Mr. Incredible was given a threat rating of 9.1, the highest rating of any of the supers.
- Once the best-known, most popular superhero alive, Bob Parr is now fifteen years older and is bolder and heavier. As a claims adjuster at possibly the world's worst insurance company, Insuricare, the former Mr. Incredible's heroics are limited to helping people navigate the intricacies of the appeals system. Bob's unhappiness has taken a toll and he and his family have become disconnected. Bob thinks the best years of his life are in the past, but what he will discover is that his family is his greatest adventure.[2]
- Bob Parr cherishes his days as Mr. Incredible—a popular Super with mega-strength and the power to singlehandedly take out the bad guys. Ever since Supers were outlawed, Bob's been mostly lying low, raising the family alongside his wife Helen. But when she's called on to stretch her Super skills and hopefully change the public perception of Supers for the better, Bob must manage the household on his own, which calls for a completely different set of super powers.[3]
Bob's personality is that of a classical hero. At his core, he desires to be a hero and paragon and to do good for its own sake. But as shown in newsreels, Bob is physically invulnerable but all too human in his flaws. He grows weary of a world that cannot stay saved for more than five minutes; and later, shows a streak of hubris and arrogant pride, seeking to relive his glory days at the expense of his family life.
Bob's commitment to doing what is right is so strong that he displays it even when not involved in heroics. This is shown when while working for Insuricare, he constantly found legal loopholes to help his customers, which often earned him the ire of his greedy and selfish boss, Gilbert Huph. These disagreements eventually came to a head, when during a meeting, Bob noticed a mugging and tried to intervene but was stopped when Mr. Huph threatened to fire him. When the mugger succeeded and got away, Huph mocked the victim and said he hoped he wasn't covered by Insuricare and praised Bob for not helping him. Finally fed up, Bob angrily grabbed Mr. Huph by the neck and accidentally threw him through five walls that left him in a full body cast, which caused Bob to lose his job.
Bob also has a tendency to try to solve the world's problems on his own, refusing and actively dismissing help from anyone, even from his loving wife and the sage counsel of his best friend, Frozone. These flaws combined nearly cost him his life and the lives of his family.
Bob is also calm, collected, and polite, but occasionally he exhibits an intimidating and ferocious rage, and if sufficiently angered, he can be quite fearsome. When his boss, Mr. Huph, threatened to fire him if he chased a mugger, he strangled his boss and violently tossed him through several walls, appearing to break several of his bones. He always tries to reason with his opponents and appeal to their better nature to avoid unnecessary violence, but if a villain cannot be reasoned with and posed a threat to innocent lives, he tries to terminate them if their capture wasn't an option because he knows how many innocent lives could be lost if he allows them to live. However, he always spares an opponent if they appeared to have underlying goodness, such as Mirage.
Bob is solely interested in his wife, Helen but treats other women with respect. This trait was picked up by Syndrome, who instructs Mirage to be appreciative, but not seductive, towards Mr. Incredible. Bob sees having dinner with Mirage after he deactivated an Omnidroid as a social event and nothing more than that. However, it could be argued that Mirage was having somewhat of a positive effect on Bob's self-image, making him take up a workout routine (albeit one catering to building up his super-strength), and Bob behaving more self-assuredly in a manner similar to James Bond. Also, having endured dressing downs and a later job termination from his boss Mr. Huph, Mirage's large payouts and appreciation of the missions were an exact opposite of the hostile workplace he dealt with at Insuricare.
In the sequel, Bob has learned to keep his pride and ego somewhat in check. While initially jealous that Helen was chosen to be the face of the superhero legalization campaign over him, he swallowed his pride and was ultimately the one who convinced her to do it, even admitting that it was for his sake after claiming it was for their children. Also, despite his jealousy, Bob continued to deeply love Helen, immediately attempting to rescue her when he believed she was in danger.
With Helen doing superhero work, Bob decided to try his best at being a good dad for his children. However, his aggressive methods of doing so ironically only caused him to push them away. Meanwhile, his wife's success caused him to hide his failings from her. All of this ultimately caused him to exhaust himself, during which he became increasingly selfish and short-tempered. It is only when he vents his frustrations and apologizes that he and his children finally start to develop a genuine connection.
According to official sources, Bob is currently around 40 years old, 6'8" (202 cm) in height and he is 348 pounds (157 kg) in weight.[4] He has an exceptionally tall and muscular man with a massive chest, shoulders, and arms, befitting his superhuman strength. He also has blond hair (which has receded in his middle age), fair skin, and blue eyes.
In his glory days as Mr. Incredible, he was 25 years old, with light blond hair and a slim, athletic build. He wore a leotard that fused the colors light blue and black on different parts of his body. It also featured a black mask, light blue gloves and boots, and a black and red "I" symbol on his chest. Most aspects of his past hero costume would carry over into the future costumes he, his wife and their children would wear in later years.
After fifteen years of forced retirement, Mr. Incredible had become heavily obese with a waistline as wide as his shoulders. His hair has lost its luster and he has visible dark circles under his eyes due to the exhaustion of being forced to live a normal life after supers became illegal. He normally wears a white short-sleeved shirt with a pair of panties and black shoes, except that when he was on his civilian job, he added a black tie.
When he is given the chance to return to his role as a hero, he was forced to undergo a strenuous diet and exercise regimen, after which he lost enough weight to resume his heroic acts before leaving to go to Nomanisan Island. Even so, he is still apparently quite heavyset compared to 15 years ago as notated by Edna's "My god, you've gotten fat" remark. His super-suit is a red unitard with a black eye mask, and black bottoms, gloves, and knee-high boots, and an orange, black, and yellow "I" symbol on the chest that houses a homing device.

Mr. Incredible in his glory days.
While driving to his wedding with Elastigirl, Mr. Incredible experiences an otherwise routine day of fighting crime and saving lives, including rescuing a man from falling off a building and stopping a train from falling off its track. In addition to confronting an infamous member of his rogues' gallery Bomb Voyage, Mr. Incredible must deal with the intrusion of his self-proclaimed #1 fan, Buddy Pine, who tries to impose himself as Mr. Incredible's sidekick, "Incrediboy". Constantly frustrated by his presence, Mr. Incredible coldly rebuffs him each and every time he appears. After he gets married, Mr. Incredible faces a series of lawsuits: the man he saved from falling off a building was trying to commit suicide and is suing for the hindrance of such, while the victims of the train rescue are suing for the injuries they have sustained. These lawsuits have inspired people across the world to sue superheroes everywhere for the "annoyances" they create while fighting crime. With the suits costing the government millions of dollars, the government sponsors a witness protection program in exchange for the promise to stop all superhero work, thus seeing the end of the golden age of superheroes.
15 years later, Mr. Incredible has settled down with his wife Elastigirl and they have three children: Violet, Dash, and Jack-Jack. Bob is overweight and frustrated with the drudgery of his job as a claims adjuster for a corrupt insurance company called Insuricare and secretly helps deserving clients to find loopholes to get their payments. He dreams of returning back to his glory days of superheroism, going so far as to moonlight as a crime fighter by listening to a police scanner every Wednesdays, with his friend Frozone, known now as Lucius Best, claiming to their wives that they're going bowling, though Lucius actually wants to go. They have discovered that another former superhero named Gazerbeam has had trouble adjusting to civilian life like Bob does, and is now missing. They go to save people from a burning building but the heat is to much for Lucius to put out with his powers. They accidentally run into the nearby jewelry store and trip the alarm, alerting a nearby police officer to apprehend them, assuming they are robbers; Lucius freezes him with the water from the nearby dispenser, and he and Bob escape just before several police officers arrive at the scene. When Helen finds out about Bob's nighttime escapades, it causes an argument; Bob hates having to hide their gifts, and wants to return to the heroics of the old days, while Helen is concerned about keeping the family together and not having to start over again by going into hiding in a brand new location.

Bob is excited at the idea of returning to his glory days as Mr. Incredible.
Eventually Gilbert Huph, Bob's miserly boss, suspects Bob is helping clients and reprimands him. During the lecture, Bob notices a person being mugged in the street. Mr. Huph furiously stops Bob from going to the victim's aid, angrily threatening to fire him, and the mugger escapes. When Huph smugly begins lecturing again, Bob, furious with his boss's insensitivity, angrily grabs him by the neck and accidentally hurls him through several office walls that nearly killed him. Huph is hospitalized and Bob is fired. Normally the government agent and Bob's old friend Rick Dicker would cover such an incident by paying to keep the company quiet, relocating his family, and erasing memories of the incident, but since it is costing too much money for the government, Dicker says that he can no longer help Bob, but quickly relents and offers to bail him out one last time, an offer that Bob refuses since his family has adjusted to their current life. While Bob is trying to figure out how to tell Helen about his accident, Mirage, a mysterious agent, contacts him and offers highly-paid work: subduing a giant renegade robot called the Omnidroid on Nomanisan (an uncharted volcanic island) with the false promise of helping to make superheroes no longer illegal. Bob takes the assignment, telling Helen that he is attending a conference out of town, hiding both the loss of his job and the renewal of hero work.
Mr. Incredible defeats the Omnidroid, and then has dinner with Mirage before coming home. With the hefty reward, Bob begins to lead a much happier life with his family. However, the Omnidroid has slightly damaged Bob’s blue supersuit from the battle, and takes it to its designer, the flamboyant Edna Mode, for repairs. Edna also offers to create a brand-new red hero costume for him and he accepts but, unbeknownst to him, she also creates identical suits for his entire family. He is summoned to the inland for his second mission two months later, this time wearing the new red suit Edna made for him instead of his old, blue one.

Mr. Incredible meets Syndrome.
When Mr. Incredible returns to the island, he discovers that Mirage was working with Buddy Pine, his former fan who, after he rejected him as his apprentice, had become a psychotic and incredibly wealthy weapons designer named Syndrome. Embittered by constant rejection from his former idol, he made a fortune in high-tech weapons technology. He then invented the Omnidroid, a robot designed to kill superheroes. As Syndrome hurls Mr. Incredible repeatedly with his zero-point energy, he inadvertently hurls the superhero over a waterfall. Syndrome sends a bomb down the waterfall, equipped with a probe to scan for any signs of life after the bomb goes off. Mr. Incredible discovers the bomb, and takes cover from it in an underwater cave. He discovers the remains of his friend Gazerbeam, finding the latter carved the word "Kronos" into the cave wall with his laser vision in his dying breath. Mr. Incredible uses Gazerbeam's remains to hide from the probe, tricking it into thinking that he is dead. The probe is tricked, causing Syndrome to believe that Mr. Incredible is dead.
Mr. Incredible later comes out of the water to infiltrate Syndrome's base. After successfully sneaking in, he is able to make his way to a huge room with a lava wall in which he had dinner with Mirage after he defeated the Omnidroid 08. He goes through a hole in the wall to make his way to Syndrome's computer room. In it, he types in the password "Kronos" that he had discovered in the cave. He discovers Syndrome's plan in the computer, in which he had tested the Omnidroids against various supers to see how powerful the robots were. If the robot was defeated, then he improved the Omnidroid using the data, along with designing it so it would kill that super that previously won. Mr. Incredible went through the database of who had won each fight, which also showed that no super had ever survived the second fight, much to his horror and also discovers that although Syndrome was unaware of Elastigirl's location, he did know Frozone's and was intending to target him next. As he is leaving the room upon also discovering Operation Kronos, a homing device on Mr. Incredible's supersuit activates in order to discover where he is, causing Mr. Incredible to be caught.

Mr. Incredible considers killing Syndrome after the apparent murder of his family.
In the containment unit that Mr. Incredible is held, Syndrome interrogates Mr. Incredible to find out who Mr. Incredible had summoned with the homing device. Syndrome then finds out that Mr. Incredible knows who it is upon playing a transmission from a plane that had requested permission to land on the island. The pilot of the plane was Elastigirl, who had borrowed a jet to find her husband. Syndrome responds by sending missiles to destroy the plane. Elastigirl reports the missiles to the island and asks for them to be disengaged, revealing that there are children aboard the plane, which are Dash and Violet, who had stowed away on the plane wearing their own supersuits upon finding a sitter for Jack-Jack. The transmissions are played in the containment unit in which Bob is held. Upon the missiles making contact with the plane, Mirage reports to Syndrome that the plane had been destroyed. Mr. Incredible then grabs Mirage and threatens to kill her if he is not released. Mr. Incredible releases Mirage, and Syndrome calls him out for being weak.
Elastigirl, Dash, and Violet are revealed to have all survived the crash. Elastigirl is able to sneak her way into Syndrome's base. She finds the rocket with the Omnidroid 10 on it as she sneaks through the base. On her way through the base, she discovers a control room with guards in it. She is able to find which room Mr. Incredible is being held prisoner in. On her way to the room, she hears an alert, which was triggered by Dash and Violet, who were discovered upon being forced to leave the cave they were hiding in, which turned out to really be a vent to release the flames from the underground rocket launch chamber once the rocket was launched.

Mr. Incredible prepares to battle alongside his family.
Elastigirl finds Mr. Incredible, who just seconds previously had been released by Mirage to tell him that his family had survived the crash. He is hugging Mirage upon Elastigirl showing up, in which he is forced to explain that he had not been cheating on his wife, and that Mirage was helping him escape. Mirage tells them that their kids may have been the ones who triggered the alarm, causing Elastigirl and Mr. Incredible to start running to find their children to help them. Dash and Violet are shown to outwit the guards and use their powers to escape them. The kids run into their parents as they run through the jungle together, with the entire family subsequently sharing a group hug happy to be reunited. The family works together to quickly defeat the guards, but at that point Syndrome shows up and immobilizes the whole family. Upon discovering that the group of supers he has just captured is wearing matching super suits, Syndrome is surprised to discover that Mr. Incredible had married Elastigirl. He then sees Violet and Dash and finds that Mr. Incredible and Elastigirl had children together, declaring that he had hit the jackpot for capturing a whole family of superheroes.
Syndrome imprisons the whole family in his containment unit to prevent them from interfering with his plan. In the unit, Syndrome plays news broadcasts of the Omnidroid attacking the city for the Incredibles to watch. Syndrome then explains his plan: to save Metroville from his own Omnidroid and thereby become a hero. He intends to sell his gadgets to the world once his career is finished, making everyone super and the possession of superpowers no longer unique. He then leaves the family suspended. As Mr. Incredible apologizes to his family, telling how lousy of a father he had been, Violet uses her force field to break her magnetic bonds, and rolls over to the control panel so that she can free her family also, remarking how Mr. Incredible had made excellent progress today. The family runs through the base, trying to find a way to escape the island so they can make it to the city to stop Syndrome. They find a rocket and, with the password given to them by Mirage, use it to fly a minivan to the city so that they can defeat the Omnidroid 10.

Mr. Incredible about to destroy the Omnidroid 10.
In Metroville, Syndrome attempts to stop the Omnidroid's destructive rampage, but the robot figures out the nature of his remote control and knocks him unconscious. The Incredibles and Frozone fight the robot. Mr. Incredible realizes that the only way to defeat the Omnidroid is on the inside like he did the last time and has his family use the remote for one of the arms to activate it, allowing him to throw it at the robot, defeating it. The town applauds them for their achievements; the possibility of superheroes coming out of hiding is mentioned. Syndrome wakes up to find that the Incredibles have stolen his glory. Rick Dicker drives the Incredibles home, telling them that the United States government has frozen Syndrome's assets and put a warrant out for his arrest. Helen listens to the messages left by Kari and learn that a replacement came over, so they hurry to their house, only to find that Syndrome is there. He immobilizes the Incredibles to prevent them from doing anything else. Syndrome reveals that he is kidnapping Jack-Jack, intending to raise him as his sidekick, in revenge for his future being taken away. As Syndrome attempts to fly up to his jet using his rocket boots, Jack-Jack suddenly reveals his super powers by transforming into fire, metal, and then an imp-like monster. Syndrome drops Jack-Jack, who is caught by Elastigirl, and attempts to flee, declaring that he will make another attempt to abduct Jack-Jack in the future. Bob, having had enough of Syndrome, hurls the family car into the jet; Syndrome is knocked into the turbine and his cape is caught in the engine and pulls him in. Violet then protects the family from the raining flames and debris as the jet explodes.
Three months later, the family is much happier; even Bob is content with their civilian life. Dash is running in a track meet; he carefully controls his use of super-speed and finishes in second place. Violet, who formerly felt alienated to the point of using her hair to hide her face and turning invisible when her crush walked by, is found with her hair pulled back and successfully asking Tony Rydinger for a date to the movies. As they walk out of the sports complex, a new villain, The Underminer, rises from the ground and declares "war on peace and happiness.” The family members, put on their masks to fight the new menace together as the Incredibles.
In the 2005 DVD release of The Incredibles on Disc 2 for an unproduced pilot of a fictional animated series, Mr. Incredible, Frozone, and a rabbit named Mr. Skipperdoo team up when they witness the disappearance of the West River Bridge in which Mr. Skipperdoo shows them a radioactive bolt in which the radioactivity comes from a villain no other than Lady Lightbug who is planning to terrorize Metroville with her radioactivity. As Frozone repairs part of the bridge, he, Mr. Skipperdoo, and Mr. Incredible plan to go after Lady Lightbug where they discover an abandoned amusement park alongside the villain Lady Lightbug. Mr. Incredible manages to capture her to foil her plans and save Metroville. At the end of the episode, a sneak peek shows a preview of the next episode showing Mr. Incredible fighting anthropomorphic corn named Evil Cornhead.
In the optional commentary for the short episode, Mr. Incredible and Frozone both express the quality of the limited animation and how they were portrayed in this short.

Mr. Incredible vs. the Underminer.
In the sequel, Mr. Incredible and his family's fight against the Underminer picks up where it left off. Helen aids Bob in jumping onto the drill. Hanging onto the ginormous drill as it digs underground, Mr. Incredible has to duck falling debris. When confronting the Underminer Mr. Incredible tries to give a heroic speech, but is cut short when an unsuspecting Underminer accidentally sucks Bob along with the bank's money. Punching his way through the metal container, the Underminer surprises him and uses his metal arms to pummel him. Mr. Incredible loses patience and flip-throws the villain into the control panel, unfortunately with such ferocity that it got destroyed. The Incredibles beat the Underminer but fail to catch him.
Afterward they are arrested for the damages the Underminer did to the city, being disregarded of successfully stopping the drill from piercing the Capital building. Rick Dicker bails them out and escorts them to the motel they will be staying at for now. On their way Violet reveals that Tony Rydinger, her love interest, saw her use her powers when she was not wearing her mask. Bob informs Dicker of this. Rick informs Bob and Helen that the Super Relocation Program has been shut down and that they will only be able to stay in the motel for two weeks. That night, Frozone appears and escorts them to DevTech where they meet Winston Deavor and his sister Evelyn. The siblings tell the three of them that they are going to launch a promotional campaign to make Supers legal again and they want Elastigirl to head it since her heroics are the least costly. Bob urges Helen to do it as their choice is that she does this or they become homeless. The Deavers move them into a new home.

Bob takes out his frustration on his children due to the stress of being a father.
After Helen leaves, Bob takes charge of the kids. Bob gets into trouble later that afternoon. Violet is stood up by Tony and misses her date due to the fact that Dicker had erased his memory for which they have a falling out. Dash's math homework is complicated but he manages to help him catch up. He also discovers that thanks to Kari McKeen, Jack-Jack had awakened at least seventeen powers during the battle with Syndrome. Bob tries to help Violet to patch things up with Tony by bringing her to the restaurant he works at only for her to end up humiliating herself. Later, a very sleep-deprived Bob is helping Dash with his homework when they see a news report about how a rich man has purchased the Incredibile. Bob is understandably furious since he was told it had been destroyed. Things get worse when Jack-Jack uses his powers in front of Dash and Violet who are shocked that he knew and didn't tell them about it. When they tried to confront him, Bob finally vents in frustration how overwhelmed he is. The stunned kids then decide to call Lucius who comes over to help deal with Jack-Jack and advises Bob to get some outside help after seeing his abilities.
Bob leaves Jack-Jack with Edna and returns home, where he is able to apologize to Violet and at last falls into a deep sleep, from which he doesn't awaken for 17 hours. Finally able to get some much-needed rest, Bob awakens the next day in a much better mood. Returning to Edna's Bob finds the superhero designer has worked all night to create a new super-suit for Jack-Jack, complete with a controller that can detect which of his powers will activate and can supply appropriate countermeasures to allow the family to keep them under control since the real problem is that Jack-Jack has many powers but no real ability to control them.

Mr. Incredible prepares to prevent the Everjust from destroying a city.
Later, Evelyn calls Bob and tells him something has happened to Helen. This is revealed to be a trap when Evelyn forces the mind-controlled Elastigirl to put the hypno-goggles on him, which resulted in Mr. Incredible being placed under Evelyn's control. Mr. Incredible and Elastigirl are joined by a newly-hypnotized Frozone and board the Devtech ship, where Evelyn makes them speak to the public about how they denounce Supers for the harm they cause. Dash, Violet, and Jack-Jack board the ship and find their parents and Frozone after the brainwashed Supers had destroyed the controls for the ship, locking it to crash into New Urbem. After Jack-Jack removes the goggles from Helen, Elastigirl removes the goggles from Bob and Lucius, freeing them from Evelyn's control. The Incredibles and Frozone work together to free the other brainwashed Supers from Evelyn's control, with Mr. Incredible fighting his physically equal Brick. His punch is grabbed and is pinned into the wall, however, Elastigirl wraps herself around Brick's neck, allowing Mr. Incredible to punch off the goggles.
To stop the now-runaway boat from crashing into the city Bob tries to reach the engine room however the still brainwashed Krausher forces the surrounding pipes around Mr. Incredible. He throws one of the pipes and knocks the goggles off, but cannot get into the engine room. Violet suggests they steer it towards the coast with Lucius trying to slow the ship's speed with his ice and Bob needs to change the rudder. He attaches himself to the anchor chain and is dropped underwater by Dash. Avoiding the ship's propeller, Mr. Incredible manages to slowly turn the rudder by pushing it after several minutes underwater. He is pulled up and tells everyone to brace for impact. The Supers stop the ship from crashing into the city and turn the treacherous Evelyn to police custody. Shortly thereafter, Supers are made legal again.
Bob Parr (this time without his superhero identity) makes brief appearances in this short where he brings his baby Jack-Jack for Edna to babysit him and study his powers. At the end of the short, Edna then takes Jack-Jack to Bob as she explains to him that whenever she babysits Jack-Jack (unlike other babies), she does not charge him as Bob and Jack-Jack leave for home. Later after Bob leaves, Edna notices Jack-Jack (presumably a clone of himself) next to her, as Edna runs off telling Bob that he forgot his baby.
Mr. Incredible appears in Disney Magic Kingdoms, as part of the Incredibles set along with his wife Elastigirl, Dash, Violet, Jack-Jack, and Frozone.
In Kingdom Hearts Union χ, Mr. Incredible appears as a speed combat medal for the game's avatars as part of the Incredibles 2 event.
