Movers + Shakers: Airbnb adds four Aussie travel industry pros to Experiences platform line-up
Airbnb is dialling up its focus on the Asia-Pacific region, unveiling a new leadership lineup to supercharge growth for its newly reimagined Experiences platform.
To lead its expansion efforts and help build a deeper and more localised offering on the platform, the company has appointed four senior travel industry leaders with strong tourism and partnership credentials.
Kevin Looney, the former Global Sales Director at Flight Centre’s Infinity Holidays, will bring his deep knowledge of wholesale travel, while Georgia Gregerson, ex-Managing Partner at GTI Tourism, adds her expertise in destination marketing. Both will operate in APAC Lead Acquisition roles at Experiences.

Also joining is Sally McFadyen, who brings a strong background in experience-led commerce, most recently at Big Red Group.
Finally, Julien Coste, formerly Head of Commercial at Rome2Rio, will support cross-platform integration.
The moves come as Airbnb unveils a raft of updates to its overall offering, including a brand-new Airbnb Services product, refreshed Airbnb Experiences and an entirely reimagined app. Read our comprehensive update on that here.

It hasn’t always been smooth sailing for Airbnb in Australia, though. In December 2023, the US giant was ordered to pay some 63,000 eligible consumers as much as $15 million in compensation after the company admitted to misleading Aussies about the currency of accommodation prices.
