In a statement issued by Bayo Onanuga, special adviser to the president on information and strategy on Saturday, Tinubu described Dantata’s death as a “monumental national loss”.

He said Dantata, who died at the age of 94, made “sterling contributions to Nigeria’s growth and development” through decades of enterprise, service, and philanthropy.

Tinubu noted that Dantata’s legacy extended beyond commerce to include impactful public service.

The late businessman once served as commissioner for planning and development in the old Kano state, among other public roles.
