Mohit Malik: For the longest time I felt I was not ready to act in films - The Times of India
Mohit Malik, who was last seen in
TV show Baatein Kuch Ankahee Si
and also made his
Bollywood debut
in Azaad, said, "I have been working in showbiz for the past 19 years but in the initial years, the goal was to earn money and run my home. The goal was never about bagging a film because I wanted to learn the craft and get comfortable. For the longest time I told myself that it was not the right time to act in films and I kept working on my craft. But since the past three years, I figured how it was time now to show my craft to a different audience and work with good filmmakers in the process. I am happy that I have bagged a film headed by Abhishek Kapoor, who has given a platform to talented actors in films like Kai Po Che."
In an earlier interview with BT, Mohit shared, "I am not a party person. I like to stay at home, read and learn more about my craft. I like to go on holidays with my wife Aditi and son Ekbir. We like going on family holidays than enjoying at parties. I like to meet friends but mostly I like to stay at home and spend time observing and researching on my work. I want to play different characters and not stick to one-dimensional roles. In Baatein I had a different role, while in Kulfi Kumar Bajewala I had a very emotional role. I enjoy my work."
