Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT), under the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, has issued Notification No. 23/2025-26 dated 30 June 2025, extending the Minimum Import Price (MIP) condition on the import of Soda Ash (Disodium Carbonate) under Chapter 28 of the ITC (HS) 2022, Schedule-I (Import Policy). The extension applies specifically to three HS codes: 28362010, 28362020, and 28362090. The MIP is set at ₹20,108 per metric tonne and will now remain in effect for an additional six months, from 1st July 2025 to 31st December 2025. This measure is a continuation of an earlier directive issued via Notification No. 46/2024-25 dated 30 December 2024. The action is taken under the authority of the Foreign Trade (Development & Regulation) Act, 1992 and the relevant provisions of the Foreign Trade Policy 2023. The notification aims to regulate the import of Soda Ash by maintaining a price threshold, thereby supporting domestic trade interests.

In exercise of powers conferred by Section 3 and Section 5 of Foreign Trade (Development & Regulation) Act, 1992, read with paragraph 1.02 and 2.01 of the Foreign Trade Policy 2023, as amended from time to time, and in continuation of Notification No. 46/2024-25 dated 30.12.2024, the Central Government hereby the Minimum Import Price condition on 03 HS Codes of Soda Ash (Disodium carbonate) 28362010, 28362020 and 28362090 under Chapter 28 of the ITC (HS), 2022, Schedule -I (Import Policy) for a further period of six months i.e. from 01.07.2025

Minimum Import Price (MIP) @ Rs. 20,108 per MT on import of Disodium Carbonate (Soda Ash) has been extended upto 31.12.2025.
