The Ghana Mining Support Service Providers Association, the umbrella body for medium, small-scale, and artisanal mining support service providers, has extended its heartfelt congratulations to John Mahama on his election as the President.
In a statement signed by the Association’s President, Isaac Owusu Nantakyi Brempong, the group described President Mahama’s victory as a "testament to the trust and confidence Ghanaians have in your vision and leadership for our beloved nation."
The Association reaffirmed its commitment to supporting the government’s dedication to sustainable development and a prosperous Ghana.
The Association also congratulated Sammy Gyamfi on his appointment as Managing Director of the Precious Minerals Marketing Company (PMMC) and Hon. Emmanuel Armah-Kofi Buah, MP, on his appointment as Minister for Lands and Natural Resources.
The statement acknowledged their appointments as a reflection of "your administration's commitment to putting competent and visionary leaders in critical positions to drive Ghana's mining sector toward sustainability and growth."
Addressing the ongoing issue of illegal mining, the Association recognized the significant challenges it poses to the environment, communities, and the economy.
"As a key stakeholder in Ghana's mining ecosystem, we pledge our full support and collaboration with your government in tackling this pressing issue," the statement read.
The Association is committed to working with the government to promote ethical mining practices, enhance enforcement mechanisms, and support community sensitization efforts to eradicate illegal mining.
Furthermore, the Association expressed its readiness to partner with the government in establishing National Plant Pools to support the small-scale mining sector.
The initiative, according to the statement, "will facilitate access to modern and efficient mining equipment for small-scale miners and ensure adherence to environmentally friendly and responsible mining practices."
This initiative aligns with President Mahama’s vision of a sustainable mining industry that contributes to national development while preserving natural resources for future generations.
The statement concluded with a pledge to work closely with President Mahama’s administration, as well as with Mr. Sammy Gyamfi and Hon. Emmanuel Armah-Kofi Buah, to achieve these shared goals.
"Together, we can create a thriving and sustainable mining sector that benefits all Ghanaians," the Association assured.
Once again, the Association congratulated President Mahama, Emmanuel Armah-Kofi Buah, and Mr. Sammy Gyamfi on their respective appointments and expressed their best wishes for their success in office.
