Miles Teller Says the Philadelphia Eagles Are 'Going to Destroy' the Kansas City Chiefs in the Super Bowl (Exclusive)

Miles Teller has nothing but faith in his hometown team to bring home a win at the 2025 Super Bowl LIX.

Speaking in an exclusive interview with PEOPLE about his new film The Gorge on Friday, Feb. 7, Teller, 37, raved about the Philadelphia Eagles — and shared that he had no doubt in his mind that Jalen Hurts, Saquon Barkley and the rest of the team are going to beat the Kansas City Chiefs.

"We're going to destroy them," Teller jokes to PEOPLE.

The actor also confirmed that he and his wife Keleigh Sperry will be in attendance at the big game in New Orleans on Sunday, Feb. 9.

"She's a diehard Birds fan," he says of his wife, who is originally from California. "She's an Eagles fan baby."

Teller also said that unlike last year's Super Bowl — when he and several celebrity friends wore Chiefs-red to support Travis Kelce and the team's #1 cheerleader Taylor Swift — he will be wearing Eagles-green.

"We will be there," he adds to PEOPLE. "Thankfully, when I was at the Chiefs last Super Bowl, they weren't playing the Eagles, so I'm going to be in a sea of green. That's where I'll be."

Teller has never kept his love for the Philadelphia team a secret, as the Top Gun: Maverick star is from Downington, Penn. and a passionate Eagles fan. The actor's wife (who wed Teller in 2019) is close friends with Swift, 35, but when the Eagles and Chiefs face off in the big game, Sperry will be cheering against the popstar's boyfriend and his teammates.

"She might be a Southern California girl, but you marry into Philadelphia sports and that is it," he teases.

Sperry and Teller joined Swift and her group at the Chiefs' 2024 Super Bowl win in Las Vegas. Ice SpiceBlake LivelyAshley Avignone, Lana Del Rey and retired Eagles star Jason Kelce (who happily supported his brother and cheered for Kansas City as they beat the San Francisco 49ers) also were part of the star-studded gathering.

After the game, Sperry shared photos taken in their suite and wrote, “INSANITY, what a night😂😂😂 Lana and I recovered. CONGRATS 🎉🎉.”

“Best day with my Chiefs fam. One for the books 🏈💥,” she added.

The Eagles and Chiefs played each other in the Super Bowl just two years ago, when both Jason, 37, and Travis, 35, competed with their respective teams in the 2023 game. Travis and the Chiefs pulled out the win at the match, dubbed the"Kelce Bowl."

The Gorge, which stars Teller and Anya-Taylor Joy, follows two highly-trained operatives appointed to posts in guard towers on opposite sides of a vast and mysterious gorge, protecting the world from an undisclosed threat. The movie premieres globally on Apple TV+ February 14.

The Eagles will face off against the Chiefs — the reigning Super Bowl chaps — on Sunday.
