Lawyer Miguna Miguna has dismissed claims that he endorsed former Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang’i for the presidency.
Circulating on social media was a digital card falsely quoting Miguna as calling for reconciliation with Matiang’i and supporting his potential candidacy.
The post also alleged that Miguna sought an apology from Matiang’i over events in 2018, when the ex-CS reportedly orchestrated a raid on his residence and his subsequent deportation to Canada.
Clarifying the situation, Miguna—currently residing in Ontario, Canada—refuted the authenticity of the statements, labeling the card as misinformation.
He reaffirmed his long-standing opposition to Matiang’i, asserting that the former minister is unfit for public office.
Miguna frequently recalls the violations he endured after administering an oath to opposition leader Raila Odinga, following Odinga’s loss in the 2017 presidential election to then-president Uhuru Kenyatta.
He maintains that the abuse he suffered, culminating in his forced deportation, was carried out under Matiang’i’s orders.
