Published 1 week ago2 minute read

The University of Pennsylvania men's basketball team fell to Princeton on Saturday, 95-71. The game was the regular-season finale for both teams.

Penn ends its season at 8-19 overall, 4-10 in Ivy League play. Princeton's season continues, the Tigers (19-10) wrapping up the fourth and final seed in next weekend's Ivy League Tournament at 8-6 in Ivy play.

*Junior Sam Brown led the Quakers in scoring again on Saturday, scoring 19 points; he ended up hitting double figures in all 14 Ivy League games this season. Brown added three assists and two steals.

*Junior Ethan Roberts extended his double-digit scoring streak to 20 games with 13 points on Saturday.

*In his final collegiate game, senior Nick Spinoso recorded 10 points, a team-high seven rebounds, and three assists.

*Sophomore Augustus Gerhart was the Quakers' fourth double-figure scorer on Saturday, reaching the mark for the second time this season with 10 points.

*In his final collegiate game, senior George Smith finished with five points, four boards and two assists.

*Princeton got a triple-double from junior guard Xaivian Lee, who finished the day with 23 points, 10 rebounds and 12 assists. Senior Blake Peters, in his final home game, led all scorers with 25 points while CJ Happy had 14 and Caden Pierce added 13.

Penn got early three-pointers from Roberts and Dylan Williams to take a 6-4 lead, but the Tigers scored the next 12 points to open up a double-digit advantage. The Quakers got as close as three, a Smith three-pointer making the score 23-20, but Princeton responded with seven of the next nine points to get some separation and then ended the half on an 11-3 run to take a 47-34 lead into the locker room at halftime.

Spinoso opened the second-half scoring, making it 47-36, but that was as close as the Quakers got the rest of the way. The final blow was a 10-0 Tigers run that took just two minutes of game time and turned this from a 16-point game into a 26-point deficit with a little more than five minutes left.

The 2024-25 season has concluded.
