Former Harambee Stars player Matthews Ottamax is a happy man after landing a new role at Radio Jambo.

Ottamax took to social media to share his excitement about the achievement.

He shared a short video depicting him in the studio and revealed he would be hosting a show every Saturday.

He called on fans to keep up with the weekly show, promising to provide all the football news they wanted.

"Meet the truthful voice of Mathews Ottamax. Many of you knew me when I used to be the goalkeeper of Harambee Stars, AFC Leopards and Gor Mahia, but from this Saturday, July 5, and every weekend, you will be hearing my voice on Radio Jambo. Anything you want to know about football, be it local or international, you will be answered. We have an encyclopedia of football. There is AFCON (African Cup of Nations), CHAN (African Nations Championship) and the World Cup. You will be getting them here on Radio Jambo," he said in the video.

Captioning the clip, he thanked God for the much-needed opportunity.

Ottamax has had personal problems, including going broke and losing a grandson in the recent past.

"God's timing is the best after every storm; there is a calm. I have found a new home at Radio Jambo. From this Saturday, at 3 pm to 7 pm as we will discuss football. Tune in every weekend because Kandanda Ni Sisi (football is us) #RadioJambo," he wrote.

Many fans have taken to the comment section to congratulate the former goalkeeper on his new role.

Previously, Ottamax appealed for employment and opened up about the difficult economic challenges.

In an emotional post, the former AFC Leopards goalkeeper shared a photo of himself in tears.

Ottamax confessed that, despite trying to maintain a strong public image, he often breaks down in private.
