August gas futures fell to a session low of $3.293 Tuesday morning before recovering to close at $3.415 per million Btu, down a net 4.1¢ on the day. “Natural gas has been under pressure as production seems to be rising, keeping pace with record electricity demand,” Price Futures Group analyst Phil Flynn said.
