July gas futures jumped 24.7¢ Monday to $3.694 per million Btu. “Traders responded to hotter 6-10 day [weather] forecasts and a sharp Monday rebound in power-sector gas demand,” Gelber & Associates said. “The prompt month now trades roughly $0.55 above last Tuesday’s low, pushing back into the upper end of the $3.30–$3.75 band that has framed prices since mid-May.”
