Managers Meeting: Craftsman Collision hosts anual managers conference

Published 1 day ago2 minute read

Craftsman Collision held its annual manager's retreat in Palm Springs from May 22-26, 2025.

The multi-day event, held at Desert Falls country club, brought together managers from 48 locations to connect with one another and recognize accomplishments that have been made over the previous year.

“This weekend brings together the entire company for golf, camaraderie and a great experience where managers from across the provinces can meet and share ideas,” said Rick Hatswell, president of Craftsman Collision.

During the retreat, the managers had several opportunities to bond- from hitting the golf course for some friendly competition, to keynote speeches and demonstrations.

American automobile designer and reality TV personality Chip Foose, of Foose Design, spoke on the first day of the conference. He did a live drawing of Craftsman Collision’s founder Bill Hatswell's, favourite car -- a 1994 Jaguar XJS coupe in metallic blue. Foose also introduced the Craftsman Collision team to some technology.

“Chip introduced our group to ‘Final QC’, an app he is part of that goes through an entire repair, line by line, ensuring the job is done right the first time,” said Rick Hatswell. “At Craftsman Collision the customer experience is number one and this ties in perfectly to produce the best quality of work on every repair for our customers.”

Craftsman Collision was founded in British Columbia in 1977 by Bill Hatswell. With more than 40 locations across Canada, they are the largest family-owned body shop chain in Canada. They strive to raise the standard of quality and service in the autobody repair industry.
