“Man United have made it clear…”: Red Devils want to replace first-team flop with ‘amazing’ player
However, they will have to get rid of Andre Onana first. They are looking to sell the Cameroon International and replace him with the South American.
Mick Brown revealed on Football Insider: “Man United have made it clear they would like to sign Martinez. “They’ll take whatever they can get for Onana, and then they’ll make contact with Aston Villa and see if they can get a deal over the line. “He’s seen as a huge upgrade on Onana so they’re prepared to take a hit to get things moving.”
Martinez is one of the best goalkeepers in the Premier League, and he has been outstanding for Aston Villa. He was very impressive for his country in the 2022 World Cup and in the Copa America as well. He played a key role and helped Argentina win both tournaments.

They are in desperate need of a reliable goalkeeper. Onana has been quite error-prone since joining the club, and he has cost his team valuable points. Manchester United need an improvement in that area of the pitch if they want to fight for trophies next year. They must look to address the weaknesses on the side if they want to bounce back strongly. They finished in the bottom half of the league table last season, and the fans will be desperate for the team to turn it around.
Martinez is widely regarded as a world-class goalkeeper, and he could transform Manchester United. It will be interesting to see how the situation develops over the next few weeks.
