Yamamoto, a Japanese native, had the opportunity to play against her former team, the Antelopes, and scored a three-pointer in the fourth quarter. This occurred while her teammate, Maddy Siegrist, was being interviewed and paused the interview to cheer for Yamamoto.

Yamamoto joined the Wings in February after playing for the Antelopes last season, where she averaged 11.7 points per game. She also represented Japan in the 2024 Paris Olympics in three-on-three basketball. However, her spot on the final roster is not guaranteed, as she is competing with other bench players and could be cut before the May 15th deadline.
