Newquay BID said the lights would change to reflect seasonal events such as Christmas

A Cornish harbour is to be illuminated with colour-changing lighting.

Newquay Business Improvement District (BID) has installed the lights on the cliffs around Newquay Harbour so they can be seen from vantage points across the town.

Newquay BID manager Mark Warren said the lighting created a "truly magical display" which celebrated the beauty of the "stunning harbour".

He said the project, funded by the Town Deal initiative, would continue to tailor and add lighting around key times such as Christmas.

Ms Bradshaw said the lights created "a stunning visual effect"

Mr Warren said the project was part of Newquay BID's wider effort to enhance the town's visual appeal and promote it as a year-round destination for residents and visitors.

Amie Bradshaw, general manager of The Boathouse, a business in the harbour, said: "The lights look great across the harbour creating a stunning visual effect and this has enhanced the lovely evening atmosphere. "
