The seven-member committee constituted by the Speaker of Parliament, Alban Bagbin, to investigate the chaos that characterized the activities of the Appointments Committee will continue its public hearing on Monday, February 10, 2025.

Several witnesses are expected to appear before the committee on Monday, including a man who claims to have been invited to witness the vetting of the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa.

Members of the Minority Caucus, specifically New Patriotic Party (NPP) Members of Parliament, have boycotted the committee’s proceedings.

Chaired by Emmanuel Kwasi Bedzrah, the committee has been tasked by the Speaker to conduct a full-scale investigation into the events of Thursday night, January 30, and Friday morning during the Appointments Committee's sittings.

Additionally, the committee is responsible for identifying all MPs involved in the disorder. Upon completion of its investigations, the committee will submit a report detailing its findings and recommendations to be adopted by the Speaker and the House.

The other members of the committee include Kwame Anyimadu-Antwi, Gizella Akushika Tetteh-Agbotui, Abena Osei Asare, Zanetor Agyeman-Rawlings, Vincent Oppong Asamoah, and Bede Anwataazuma Ziedeng.
