The rapper's Tha Carter VI North American tour marks two decades of the rapper’s iconic Tha Carter series

It turns out Lil Wayne’s first headlining show at Madison Square Garden on June 6 will kick off an entire North American tour supporting Tha Carter VI, his latest album set to drop the same day. The tour will also recognize over 20 years of the rapper’s Tha Carter album series, which began in 2004. 

Tha Carter VI tour will hit 34 cities including Toronto, Los Angeles, and Atlanta through Oct. 2. Tyga and Belly Gang Kushington will also perform on all dates except the Madison Square Garden show, and NoCap will appear on select dates as well. Wayne’s Cash Money Records group the Hot Boys will perform with him on Sept. 22 at Paycom Center in Oklahoma City.  Artist presale tickets will begin on June 4 with additional presales running until general sales on June 6 at 10 a.m. local time.  

As Rolling Stone’s May cover star, Lil Wayne played staff writer Andre Gee music he was working on for Tha Carter VI, which included features from his son Kameron, Bono, Elephant Man, MGK, and many more. “If there’s one thing about this album that’s different, it’s me approaching it like, ‘Man, what would I sound like on something with such and such?’” Wayne said.
