In a 2014 interview with Anderson Cooper, the Taken actor admitted his wife’s death still didn’t feel real. He recalled walking into the hospital and seeing her hooked up to a life support machine, immediately knowing that he had to make a difficult decision.

He explained in the interview that the couple had made a pact - that if either of them ended up in a vegetative state, “we’d pull the plug.” When Neeson saw his wife hooked up to various tubes and wires, he knew it was time to let her go.

He said: “When I saw her, and saw all these tubes and stuff, that was my immediate thought; Ok, these tubes have to go. She’s gone.”

The couple were married for 15 years

“We donated three of her organs," he continued, "So, she’s keeping three people alive at the moment. Her heart, her kidneys and her liver.”

Cooper asked if that gives Neeson a good feeling, to which he replied, “It’s terrific. I think she would be really thrilled and pleased with that too.”

Now 72, Neeson has not remarried since her death in 2009. In fact, he has not been in any high-profile public relationships. When asked by People magazine about dating, the Irish actor said, "I'm past all that."

Nastasha Richardson, who passed away on March 18 2009, was best known for her roles in The Parent Trap, Maid in Manhattan, and A Month in the Country.

Last year, during an appearance on the late-night talk show Conan, the host brought up Richardson, and then quickly apologized. But Neeson assured him: "No, it's fine," adding "We still talk every day, me and Natasha. Every day."
