Lagos State Deputy Governor Obafemi Hamzat has urged residents of the Lagos East Senatorial District to vote massively for the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidates in council elections.

Mr Hamzat made the appeal at the APC campaign mega rally on Saturday at Government College, Owutu, Ikorodu.

He highlighted the achievements of the APC-led government, citing improvements residents have enjoyed as dividends of democracy under the party’s leadership.

“Let us come out and support the party by voting for all APC candidates. Do not be swayed by negative reports. Lagos State is performing excellently; our local government chairmen and councillors are working hard for your benefit.

“You have benefited from democracy through better infrastructure, improved education, and enhanced healthcare systems.

“So, I urge you to come out en masse and support them on July 12. I assure you that APC is the right choice. Please come out and vote,” Mr Hamzat pleaded.

The deputy governor warned against negative reports, insisting that Lagos is thriving and local chairs and councillors are delivering excellent governance.

In his remarks, Akanni Seriki, a member of the Governance Advisory Council (GAC), urged elected candidates to serve the people faithfully.

He also called for unity and solidarity among all party members to ensure electoral victory.

“Let us unite as one and support all the party’s candidates,” Mr Seriki said.

Similarly, Abiodun Ogunleye, GAC member and former deputy governor, encouraged the electorate to vote en masse on July 12.

He advised all party faithful to actively support APC candidates at the polls.

“Let us mobilise votes for the APC,” Mr Ogunleye stated.

The rally featured the presentation of all APC chairmanship and vice-chairmanship candidates in the Lagos East area.

GAC members, national and state lawmakers, and officials from the state executive council attended it.

Others present included APC leaders from state, local, and ward levels, market groups, unions, ethnic bodies, and loyal party supporters.
