, Anthony Davis and other NBA players.

“I didn’t see myself playing in Paris, too,” LeBron James laughed after the win, “but four years from now. I can’t see it”

At age 39 in Paris, LeBron earned FIBA MVP honors and became the first male player to record two Olympic triple doubles, averaging 14.2 points, 6.8 rebounds and 8.5 assists per game.

That Paris final saw Team USA edge out host France 98–87.

With Curry’s late flurry and Kevin Durant’s steady play sealing the win.

Despite his unlikeliness to suit up in 2028, LeBron stressed his ongoing commitment to Team USA.

“I’ve given everything … and I will always be appreciative and loyal and dedicated to Team USA and USA Basketball,” he said

Even if he doesn’t play in Los Angeles, LeBron hinted he’ll remain involved—supporting from the sideline or mentoring the next generation of USA players.

The Paris Games marked a symbolic passing of the torch.

With LeBron, Curry and Durant sharing the floor one last time and firmly establishing their international legacy.

As Team USA prepares for Los Angeles 2028, it will do so without its longtime pillars, but with a program built to endure beyond its golden era.

LeBron James doesn’t expect himself to play in the 2028 Olympic Games:

“Where we at, man, 2025 right now? (Laughs) Nah, nothing has changed. I mean, if I had to look at it right now through a microscope, I would say that, me being able to support Team USA for the rest of my life… pic.twitter.com/aLfixM3E61
