After starring in EastEnders on and off for over more than 20 years, Lacey Turner’s character, Stacey Slater, has been at the centre of some of the show’s biggest storylines.

Now, just months after welcoming her third child, Lacey has revealed that she is leaving the show to enjoy life at home with her kids and to focus on other projects.

After joining EastEnders when she was just 16 years old, Lacey admits that taking a break from the show will be strange. Speaking to OK!, Stacey said: "'Break' is a funny word, I don't think I've ever had one!"

Lacey returned to EastEnders just weeks after giving birth to her youngest child, Gipsy Olive in January to film the show’s 40th anniversary special episodes, and is currently still appearing on our screens.

As a new mum-of-three, Lacey is ready to spend some time at home with her kids. She explained: “The older they get, the more you realise how quickly the little years pass. It’s bonkers. So I take it day by day, week by week.

“You feel guilty leaving them, but also guilty for not earning. It’s just never-ending. But we’ve got to stop judging and start supporting each other.”

Lacey may be saying goodbye to EastEnders for now, but the door is reportedly still open for her return in the future.

Lacey and her husband Matt are parents to Dusty, five, Trilby, four, and four-month-old Gipsy Olive.
