The eTIMS Fuel Station System is a digital solution tailored for the petroleum sector, offering seamless real-time tax invoicing by integrating with fuel station point of sale (POS) systems and forecourt controllers.

"The Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) is implementing the eTIMS Fuel Station System, which is an eTIMS solution for the fuel sector that enables real-time seamless invoicing for every sale integrating with KRA through a forecourt controller and existing point of sale. We wish to remind retailers of petroleum products of the requirement to implement the eTIMS Fuel Station System for all the retail outlets by 30th June, 2025. KRA further advises fuel station owners that they can choose to integrate by themselves where there is technical capacity or work with a KRA-certified fuel solution integrator," read the KRA notice dated June 27.

According to KRA, this initiative aims to enhance transparency, streamline tax compliance, and ensure accurate reporting of fuel sales.

KRA encouraged fuel station owners to act promptly and transition their invoicing to the eTIMS before the deadline.

KRA noted that outlets can either carry out the integration on their own if they possess the required technical expertise or partner with certified third-party fuel solution integrators.

The authority notified retailers that they can access the contacts and details of KRA-approved integrators from the publications section of its website under the title "List of approved eTIMS 3rd party system-to-system software integrators as at 30th April 2025"

KRA emphasised its continued commitment to supporting businesses through this transition and urged all fuel retailers to ensure compliance before the set deadline.
