Kern County firefighters extinguish vehicle fire, protect fuel tanker

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — Firefighters with the Kern County Fire Department extinguished a vehicle fire that nearly spread to fuel tanker Wednesday afternoon.

According to Kern County fire officials, the vehicle fire was reported in the 34000 block of 7th Standard Road around 12:41 p.m.

When firefighters arrived at the scene, employees were attempting to extinguish the fire using fire extinguishers. Two vehicles were damaged.

Fire crews quickly used hose lines and extinguished the fire and protected the fuel tanks and other vehicles.

No injuries were reported and the cause of the fire is unknown, accordig to county fire officials.
