Kenyan Man Deported from US After Best Friend Allegedly Reports Him to State Police
Over the past few weeks, many have taken to social media, claiming that some individuals are reporting fellow Kenyans to the US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) for deportation.
There were allegations that ICE was offering a $750 (KSh 96,862) reward to anyone who reported illegal immigrants. However, ICE has since dismissed these claims as false.
Netizens expressed mixed reactions, with some sympathising with him as others argued that he should take responsibility if he was in the US illegally.
Jahnetyne Wanjiku:
“These days, snakes don’t hiss—they come in attractive packages called friends.”
Rutha Utheri:
“So, everyone blames someone else when they get caught, as if the US doesn’t have the resources to track down illegal immigrants. Have you accepted that you were in the wrong? You were breaking the law, simple. These kinds of posts are getting tiring—you know one day, they may catch up with you. It happens, and then you blame an imaginary friend.”
Kan Bim:
“You people should come back home if you do not have the required papers.”
Lydia Henrysdóttir:
“I have lived in Europe for 31 years, but my best friend is my husband and my children. Living a very peaceful life ever.”
Naomi Kahuria:
“The most common human trait, even among friends, is envy. When nurtured, envy grows into jealousy, and jealousy consumes them until they can’t hide it anymore and act against you.”
Willyberforce Tishbite Muteti:
“Your friend is just an honest person—don’t blame him. Such people are very rare.”
Anne Anne:
“I was betrayed by a friend for sleeping at work during the night shift.”
Farridah Mwakita:
“This is the saddest experience of one’s life. People we trust have turned out to be pythons.”
Neelam Varma:
“Welcome to the world of rivalry, jealousy, and dishonesty. Maybe it’s time for you to brush off the dust and make a fresh start. All the best—he didn’t deserve you.”
In other news, reported that US-based Kenyan TikToker Arnold Malcom responded to rumours that he had been deported.
The speculations arose after he travelled to Kenya just days after Donald Trump issued his executive orders on migrants.
Malcom stated that even if he had been deported, it did not matter as long as he still had all his limbs and could continue hustling.
