The NBA Summer League is underway, as fans get their first glimpse of NBA basketball for the 2025-26 season.

The Summer League is the first opportunity for NBA rookies to play basketball for the teams that either drafted or signed them.

Bronny James had an excellent Summer League debut yesterday, but several teams are giving rookies the chance to take off.

Well, one rookie on the Miami Heat’s Summer League roster is getting the chance to play with his high school teammate Kel’el Ware.

Bryson Warren was signed to the Miami Heat’s Summer League team for the second straight year. Once again, he gets to play with his former Little Rock Central teammate, Kel’el Ware.

Speaking about the opportunity to play with Ware again, Warren looked back on their chemistry from the past, and how easy it is to play with him.

“It’s amazing. I don’t know how many times we did it, but I know every time we did it, we got a bucket.

“Playing with him is extremely easy. Even going back to high school, people don’t know we played together in high school freshman year.”

Warren and Ware will hope to find more success together in the Summer League, after helping the Miami Heat win the tournament last year.

Miami Heat assistant coach and Summer League head coach Eric Glass spoke positively about Bryson Warren and seemed to hint at the Heat signing him long-term.

“He’s a good all-around player, he can shoot it, he can put it on the floor, he can make plays. He can defend with the level we want to do. We are happy with Bryson.”
