Kefas approves six-month recertification of land titles in Taraba
The Governor of Taraba State, Dr. Agbu Kefas, has approved the statewide recertification of all Certificates of Occupancy (C of Os).
The move, as made known by the governor on Sunday, is part of a broader initiative to update and regulate land documentation in the state.
According to an official statement released by the Director General of the Taraba Geographic Information System (TAGIS), Dr. Joshua Maaku Mark, the exercise will be conducted over a six-month period.
Stating that TAGIS, which was formerly known as the Bureau for Land and Survey, will oversee the recertification process.
Property owners across the state have been directed to visit the TAGIS headquarters to complete their recertification.
Dr. Mark stressed the need for compliance, warning that late fees will apply to those who fail to complete the process within the stipulated timeframe.
“We urge all landed property owners to take this opportunity seriously and ensure timely recertification to avoid penalties,” Dr. Mark said.
The initiative, as affirmed by the state government, is aimed at ensuring that all land titles are updated in line with current regulatory standards.
