KATSEYE's 'Gabriela' Voted Favorite New Music

Global girl group KATSEYE has achieved a significant milestone with their new single, “Gabriela,” topping this week’s new music poll published on Billboard. The track garnered an impressive 43% of the total votes from music fans who participated in the poll, which was released on Friday, June 20. This decisive win positioned “Gabriela” as the favorite new music release of the past week, surpassing offerings from notable artists like Public Enemy, Cardi B, Benson Boone, Karol G, Lorde, and Haim.

KATSEYE, comprised of members Lara Raj, Daniela Avanzini, Sophia Laforteza, Yoonchae Jeung, Manon Bannerman, and Megan Meiyok Skiendiel, continues to build momentum in the global music scene. The group was notably seen visiting the Trü Frü backstage portrait studio at iHeartRadio's 102.7 KIIS FM Wango Tango concert on May 10, 2025, in Huntington Beach, California. “Gabriela” serves as a pre-release single from their highly anticipated Beautiful Chaos EP, which is set to be released on June 27 via HYBE x Geffen. The song itself is characterized by its vibrant Latin pop groove, uniquely blending English and Spanish-language lyrics, notably featuring a bridge sung entirely in Spanish.

The success of “Gabriela” follows their previous hit, “Gnarly,” which marked the group’s career-first entry on the Billboard Hot 100 in May and later received a remix featuring Ice Spice earlier in the month. Further contributing to the single's impact, the music video for “Gabriela” was released on June 19. This deliberately melodramatic, telenovela-inspired visual, directed by Andrew Thomas Huang and featuring actress Jessica Alba, has rapidly accumulated 9.3 million views on YouTube as of Sunday, June 22.

The group also made a recent appearance at the 2025 Kids’ Choice Awards, where they performed “Gnarly,” culminating in a memorable sliming moment. In the same Billboard poll, other significant new releases included Public Enemy’s “March Madness,” which secured 22% of the vote; Cardi B’s “Outside” with 16%; Benson Boone’s “American Heart” with 5%; and Karol G’s Tropicoqueta trailing with 2% of the vote. This poll success underscores KATSEYE's growing influence and connection with their fanbase, marking a significant moment in their burgeoning career.
