Kanpur man drowns at pool party, friends fail to notice; CCTV shows him struggling for 2 minutes

KANPUR: A 24-year-old man drowned at a private water sports facility in Kanpur while attending a pool party with friends, police said. Shikhar Singh, a resident of Yashoda Nagar, was seen in CCTV footage struggling in the water for nearly two minutes. His friends reportedly failed to notice his distress until he stopped moving. He was pulled from the water and taken to a nearby hospital, where he was declared dead. The incident took place at a facility in Sanigwan, which has since been sealed by police. Authorities said the pool lacked basic safety measures such as life jackets, trained staff, and life support systems.
